There are several groups with the same name but the largest of them is the AMORC, headquartered in San Jose, California. This group combines Hinduism, alchemy, and Masonic ritual with what they call the wisdom of ancient Egypt. It is a very secretive group. Although claiming they are not a religion they have alters set up to ancient Egyptian deities. With an “Appellation Rite” which replaced Christian baptism.

Basic teachings are:

  1. Reincarnation
  2. Pantheism – God is the Supreme Intelligence, pure energy, not a person
  3. Spiritism
  4. Belief in a Universal Soul
  5. Jesus is the highest initiate of the sun period, but not God
  6. Holy Spirit is the highest initiate of the moon period, but not God, or not even a person
  7. Sins are expiated not by Blood of Christ but can only be with the law of AMRA

Sacred books of this group are:

  1. the Fama (main doctrinal book) with another two novels by Andreae,
  2. Confessio Fraternitatis (1615)
  3. Chymische Hochzeit Christiani Rosenkreutz (1616)

These books were simply novels written by Johann V. Andreae in 1610, who stated these were novel without any basis in real life.
